Deeper Spiritual Formation Focus
While The Collective Journey book and Online Cohorts offer valuable insights into leadership and community, the Leadership Intensive goes beyond theory and principles—it is designed to deeply form the inner life of a leader. The focus is on spiritual formation, personal transformation, and developing Christ-centered leadership.
This isn’t just about leading well in your community or organization; it’s about leading from a place of deep spiritual health, intimacy with God, and sustainable practices that align with the heart of God.
Long-Term, Cohesive Process
The 6-month journey (with two retreats) ensures that this is not a one-time event or quick fix. The program offers sustained engagement over time, giving you the chance to reflect, grow, and implement what you’re learning in a meaningful way.
The experience includes two (2) in-person retreats held in Marshall, VA (one at the beginning and one at the conclusion of the 6-month period). These retreats allow for deep encounters with God and intentional reflection in sacred spaces, anchoring the experience in a tangible, communal setting.
A Safe Space for Vulnerability and Growth
This program creates a trusted community where you can be vulnerable about your leadership struggles, personal challenges, and spiritual growth without fear of judgment. The group dynamic fosters connection and accountability, which is essential for sustainable change.
Intensive Mentoring, Not Just Teaching
The Leadership Intensive provides a one-on-one mentoring experience that helps you navigate your unique leadership challenges and spiritual journey. It’s customized to each participant, offering real-time feedback, personalized guidance, and opportunities for deep relational engagement.
Unlike a group study or book club format, this is about intentionally shaping you as a leader—addressing your specific spiritual needs and leadership hurdles through mentoring and community.
Integration of Personal & Professional Life
The Leadership Intensive is designed to integrate spiritual formation with leadership practice in a holistic way. It’s not just about gaining skills or expanding knowledge—it’s about living out your faith and leadership with integrity and purpose, ensuring that both are deeply connected.
You’ll engage with practices and insights that enhance your leadership and personal life, helping you align your everyday actions with your deepest values and calling.
Facilitation with Experienced Mentors
The mentors in the Leadership Intensive aren’t just skilled leaders; they have deep spiritual wisdom and experience in walking alongside leaders through life’s challenges. They’ve walked the journey themselves, which makes the mentoring authentic, relatable, and rooted in real experience.

The Collective Journey Leadership Intensive is a combination of in-person and online experiences.
The two retreats are held in-person at Marshall, VA.
Both one-on-one mentoring and the teaching take place online through live zoom calls and high-quality video curriculum.
Online, you can also interact with women who are also in the Leadership Intensive through comments and reflection assignments. In addition, we create a private Chat Room for each group to create space for conversation and relationship-building.

I recommend four books to read on your leisure and to purchase for your library. These are not required to complete the journey, but are good books to read to continue deepening your life and leadership path.
• Strengthening the Soul of Your Leadership (Ruth Haley Barton)
• A Work of Heart (Reggie McNeal)
• Dare Mighty Things (Halee Gray Scott)
• Braving the Wilderness (Brene Brown)
-
While The Collective Journey Leadership Intensive is intended primarily for personal development and community and does not count toward college credit, there is a separate 4-course class, “The Women’s Collective Cohort,” available through Ascent College, that includes many of the principles taught in this book. Click here for details.
-
At the conclusion, you’ll receive a Certificate of Completion that will allow you to facilitate hosting a group of your own through The Collective Journey. This is an ideal way to build community with a team of leaders or volunteers at your church, in your ministry, or even in a non-profit organization.
In addition, participants are given a Leaders Guide to assist in facilitation.
